History:        

Shoes On A Shoestring of Albuquerque, NM was started in 1990. From the beginning our vision has been to offer value-priced merchandise in an environment where the customer could choose the level of service they desired.  As this evolutionary process continued, the focus clearly became customer convenience and value.  By 1996, SOAS was modified into a warehouse concept and became the largest women’s shoe store in the Southwest.  The huge selection was merchandised by color and style, which was a new and fresh concept in the shoe industry at that time.  Since our locations average around 17,000 square feet, our expansive inventory offer our customers much more in terms of selection and value than any competitors in the area. In 2002, a massive display area was added, which provided customers a new option; to shop by brand or by style. In 2004 Shoes On A Shoestring expanded to the west side of Albuquerque, NM. Our west side store is located on the west side of The Cottonwood Mall on Coors Bypass. It offers the same product lines and customer service as the original store. Economy of the west side of Albuquerque is buoyed by the fastest growing city in the state, Rio Rancho, NM.  Although from inception, Shoes On A Shoestring of Albuquerque was primarily a venue directed to women, 2010 brought about the addition of footwear for men and children. As with the selection for women, our selection for men and kids is expansive.

Our presence is strong in the radio market. Over the years, award winning campaigns such as the “Wife Missing” themes have kept our customers constantly looking for the “new” tales and storylines. In addition to the conventional forms of advertising (radio, print, & Television), Shoes On A Shoestring of Albuquerque, NM maintains a 125,000 customer base that we stay in contact regularly with permission based email blasts. We have also moved aggressively into the world of social media and mobile marketing.
